Our Memories
She Touched Me Softly
There are some who touch boldly
Forcing you to bend
But her touch was gentle words
Helping the broken hearted mend.
If you were touched by her
She softly spoke to you
With words of hope and life
In a world brand new.
She touched me softly
When my heart was hard
She gently nudged my conscience
And said let down your guard.
She spoke of better days
Gone the times of bad
She guided me in truth
To embrace the faith she had.
Our lives took us miles apart
But our goals were the same
We would continue firm
Upholding Jehovah’s name.
When times were trying
And I thought I would break
She spoke to me softly
Saying continue for His sake.
She spoke to all softly
With words like balm
All will remember her
With a face so beautiful so calm.
I couldn’t be with her
My dear friend Tammy
To touch her softly
As she did for me.
But I steady my tears
Because this isn’t the end
My hope is to touch her softly
And say welcome back my friend.
“When anyone thinks of Tammy, they have to think of her smile.
She was so beautiful to everyone but especially to those who saw her inner beauty. She was full of love for Jehovah and she used her strengths for his work even in difficult times. Lester and Tammy helped us in the truth and set an example of self sacrifice. Tammy helped me to see that pioneering was a way to show faith in Jehovah and his Son Jesus. She kept her life simple and focused on Jehovah. There wasn’t a time when we spoke that we didn’t share experiences about the ministry.
She is secure in Jehovah’s memory and soon will smile again gently touching all whom she meets.”

“I hear the cotton woods
Whispering above,
Tammy, Tammy, you were so loved.
The ol hootie, owl hootie
Hoots to the dove,
Tammy, Tammy, you’re still so loved.”

“There’s no one event that sums up Tammy for me, but there is one feeling, family.
She always referred to you (aka Lester) as ‘your big brother’. There were “family” dinners, and everyone had their role.
Lester was responsible for the “beverages”.
Tammy & I cooking together, which usually meant there was going to be some Cajun food.
There was usually some laughter and eye-rolling from Tammy as Lester regaled us with his stories, even though she had heard them all.
That laugh, that was Tammy. She was my big sister, my family.”
— Meredith
“I remember the hospitality Tammy showed when we had our talk together. I also always liked when Tammy would say hi and talk to me at the meetings. I just miss her so much..”
— Sophia
“My Brother, these are some of my recollections about dear Tammy:
My Sister was a kind, gentle soul, with a sense of humor and laugh that was a joy. You knew in your heart she was laughing with you, not at you. When she asked how you were doing, she had a genuine, loving interest in your behalf, ready to help wherever possible. When Tammy spoke, she spoke truth without attitude or reservation.
When she loved, it was sincere and whole hearted.
In this life, we will miss her warmth and caring spirit, but in the world to come we will experience the joy of her company for ever more. Then our hope will become a reality, a reality that will praise the God dear Tammy worshipped.
With Love.”

“Tammy, my sister, my friend…
Tammy possessed many qualities that made her a wonderful example. Especially her willingness to serve her God, Jehovah, in whatever capacity needed, whether international construction, the full-time ministry, cleaning the Kingdom Hall, or helping care for aged family members.
I appreciated her “quiet and mild spirit which is of great value in the eyes of God.”
She also knew how to have a good time, was hospitable, interested in others and always ready to lend a helping hand. I never heard her say a disparaging word about anyone, no matter what she was dealing with in her life. Although Tammy was reserved at times, she was bold in her ministry,
“always ready to defend her God, but with a mild temper and respectful spirit.” She was attentive, conscientious and caring toward those showing interest in the Good News. I remember specifically her return visit and later Bible student, Doris. Tammy diligently helped Doris learn about Jehovah, his purpose and promises.
I enjoyed the many times we worked together in the ministry, the things I learned from her, and cherish the wonderful memories made. Tammy heard stories, one liners and anecdotes through the years by her husband, Lester and her father-in-law, Herb. Although having heard them many times previously, when presented to someone new, she was always gracious, hanging on every word and laughed at just the right time. I found that to be very endearing.
My faith is strengthened knowing she died faithful to Jehovah, with full integrity. I am fully convinced that her name is written in the, “book of remembrance” –Malachi 3:16
I miss my sister and friend and look forward to welcoming her back soon!”
—Tena
“Auntie Tammy-
She was a beautiful woman,
with a beautiful heart,
and a beautiful smile.”
—Hana
“When I think of Tammy, the thing that always comes to mind is a warm smile and twinkling eyes.
She probably hated her laugh lines (we all do), but they were a sign of the kind of person she was, someone who loved to laugh and could see the funny side of life. She was the perfect sidekick for Lester! She didn't talk a lot, but she thought a lot, and she cared about the things that matter. Most importantly, she loved Jehovah with her whole heart, soul, mind and strength, and we know Jehovah loved her back. He is our most loyal Friend, and he will never forget his dear faithful servant.
We all loved her, and we can't wait to see those smiling eyes again.”
—Lori
Tammy, my sweet sister, the first time we met I loved you.
Your beautiful hair, your beautiful blue eyes, your kindness, you became part of our family! When you came to our house, the children were drawn to you and you became their other mother.
These were good times that we will enjoy again in the beautiful paradise.
We know this time is “just around the corner," without the stress of this life.
Miss you and love you,
—Kerstin
Tammy baby!
My dear friend I want to thank you for being such an amazing friend and person.
Even though we haven't known each other for very long I feel like we've been friends forever. You and Les are such a blessing from Jehovah to all that know you. Jehovah will never forget your faithfulness to him. What a beautiful example you both are. I can't wait to see your beautiful smiling face again.
I'll see you soon my sweet friend.
I love you :)
Forever your friend,”
— Angie
“Tammy is my sister, my friend, my conscience.
"Elizabeth!" I can hear her now.
Our bond is long and unique. She loved Jehovah completely; His people unconditionally and would always tell you the truth. The glass was always half full and I hear her saying in that sweet drawl "Well, Jehovah will take care of it...cuz you just never know, right?" Then always laugh.
A piece of my heart is missing.
Her future is assured but I'd rather have her here now as her loss is tragic.
Until then...let's make sure we're there.”
—Elizabeth
“Tammy was not only a wonderful friend. She was a beautiful person that loved Jehovah.
She touched all our hearts. My girls loved when Tammy and Lester would pick them up for service. Those are memories they will never forget. She was a great and funny person to talk to about anything. We spent many hours talking about our pains that not many knew about. I personally know how much she was physically hurting, but I'm sure it hurt her more to leave the love of her life Lester behind. I can't wait for her to wake up so we can run and garden together.
I MISS YOU MY FRIEND!”
—Belem
“Tammy was truly kind and loving. She gave us courage when the pandemic started..”
— Madison
“Oh how we loved Tammy so much.
Her love for others was displayed every time you talked to her. Her thoughtfulness and the kindness she showed to our family will always be treasured. I will never forget the day she showed up to our home with a single flower from her garden for me, just because. She thought about what she could do for others, even in the simplest ways, and her love meant so much. Most importantly, her love for Jehovah
and the example she set as a loving wife and friend will never be forgotten..”
— Becky
“Tammy walked right into our hearts with her warm smile and her beautiful bright eyes.
Most importantly she encouraged our family spiritually.
Tammy took a kind interest in our children and our whole family
she quickly held a special spot in our hearts.
Now our hearts are broken, and
we anxiously wait for Jehovah to repair our hearts when he returns our loved ones to us.”
— Dan & Ana Coyle
“Tammy my friend, my sister:
I’ve started to call you so many times since you left us. Then I remember...I have to wait. I have to wait to hear your sweet, soothing, sometimes spunky voice.
I have to wait to giggle with you when we recall the good times we shared; the funny “surprise” for Lester; the little get a ways the four of us enjoyed on one coast then the other. I will wait to see the Gulf coast you wanted to show us. I will wait to show you some Hawaiian shores you haven’t seen yet.
I will wait to tell you thank you for showing me how to be a better pioneer and how to love Jehovah in all circumstances.
I will wait my dear friend, my sister, doing just what you would do, serve our Heavenly Father Jehovah the best I can, support your precious Lester the best Reggie and I can, and look forward to the joyous day we are all together again.
See you soon, Tammy girl. ”
— Your Sis Julie
“Tammy always said Hi to me with a smile
and asked how I was doing. I am sad she is gone.”
— Sammy
“Tammy - a beautiful, kind, sweet, and modest person.
Foremost, an excellent servant of Jehovah.
An awesome cook that always made a house feel like a home.
I loved her infectious laugh!!! It did not happen that often but,
when you hit her funny-bone she would laugh till she could not breathe.
Quite the foodie. It did not matter where you were in the country;
she knew the best place to eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner – hands down.
Definitely a sister to me, I loved her.
I cannot wait to welcome her back, very soon!!!”
—Tina
“Tammy will always hold a special place in my heart.
Without Tammy, my life would not have been the same. Jehovah sent her and Lester to my parents
and helped them develop a strong relationship with Jehovah and gave them the pioneer spirit that she always had.
Her influence in my life always motivated me to reach spiritual goals
and enjoy the full time service as she did.
She was a second mother and an incredible example of faith and trusting in Jehovah. It will be a beautiful day, when we are all reunited with her beautiful smile and laugh. Until then, she’s safe in Jehovah’s memory and always in ours.”
—Breanna
“Days are soon coming when you and I will be walking side by side, arm in arm, laughing.
We are surrounded by paradise, and we are looking for newly resurrected ones that we can talk to about our great God Jehovah and his son, our King, just as we had done before, but this is so much better. Jehovah had remembered everything about you, your warm and caring personality, your easy smile, your love of people, especially the little ones, and the love you had for your family, both familial and spiritual. But most importantly he remembered your love for him and his son.
Thankfully he also remembered your love for good wine.
So, after our carefree and successful day of preaching and teaching we head off to my house on the lake.
We sit out on the deck, watch monkey’s fly through the trees; elephants roam on the plains in the distance and enjoy a glass of red wine together. Tammy you are sorely missed, but thoughts of many days like these ones keep us going. Knowing as we do that you are safe in Jehovah’s memory.
I love and miss you,”
—Rachelle
“For Tammy,
Tammy was a very loving person. She was like my other grandmother. She would get my sister and me little things, usually candy. One day Tammy invited me to her Bible Study with a little girl. It was my first and only Bible Study I had been to and invited to go to. It was really nice to see how other people study with kids. Tammy was so friendly, sweet and easy with her. Tammy always had a very heartwarming personality. Both Tammy and Lester made me feel loved by someone other than my parents and sister. I loved her a lot too. I’ll always miss her.
But now I have a greater hope for the future; to see Tammy in Paradise.”
—Isabella
“Tammy was a very wonderful, loving, and spiritual sister.
She made a lot of us smile and I was really close to her. She was like family to me. I loved seeing her hang out with all the kids in the hall and it made me laugh when Jael and her acted goofy together after the meeting. In the Bible at Revelation 21:4 it says that Jehovah will wipe out every tear from our eyes. In the song “He will call” it says “all those asleep, who in God’s memory stay, from death he will awaken” so God will resurrect everybody that has passed away and we will be in a perfect world with perfect bodies and we will never be hurt again. And she, she really loved Jehovah God, she really did. I remember once when she took me and Bella to service she introduced us to her little Bible study. I don’t remember her name, I just remembered that she wanted to learn more about Jehovah, and Tammy helped her. I can’t wait to see all our brothers and sisters again that have passed away. Another song I like is “he will make you strong” because even the title is encouraging that Jehovah will make us strong again.
I really loved Tammy and can’t wait to see her again.”
